Meteorology is the study of weather. It is an earthscience. With all the drama of global warming, we decided to make it a separate catergory on it's on. Anyone with a computer, which you have or you would not be reading this, can have access to many weather channels or links. Real time weather instruements are also commonly used when a computer is not available.

Weather is an interdisciplinary science which encompasses all the basic sciences.  It is basically the study of the atmosphere and phenomena  which occur there.  The phenomena are observable events (such as a storm) that meterorology predicts and explains.  The principal variables in the atmosphere are temperature, pressure, water vapor and the gradients and interactions of each variable.  This information is analyzed for predicting weather patterns through time.

Meterorology, climatology, atmospheric physics and atmospheric chemistry are just a few of the subdisiplines of the atmospheric sciences. The association of meterorology and hydrology is the collective  interdisiplinary disipline of hydrometeorology.  Hydrology is the study of the Earth's water cycles, including streams, rivers and oceans.  Oceanography is the study of ocean currents and chemistry, which have a profound effect on climatology.  Climatology is bascially meteorology on a global scale. All of these disiplines rely heavily upon computer generated models in predicting weather patterns.  These models are crucial in predicting weather hazard events, such as tornadoes and hurricanes.
